Welcome to Concentus Musicus Minnesota. In keeping with the organization’s artistic and educational mission, this website makes available for download, sound recordings of Medieval and Renaissance compositions selected from the concerts and sessions of Concentus Musicus performing ensembles. It encompasses most of the forms of the period–motet, mass, madrigal, chanson, villancico, instrumental dance, etc.–written by a wide array of composers including: Guillaume Dufay, Josquin Desprez, Robert Fayrfax, William Byrd, Costanzo Festa, Carlo Gesualdo, Cristobal Morales, Francisco Guerrero, etc . . . the list is long and distinguished.
An alphabetical list of composers is found under the heading ‘Composers’. To access a recording of a composer’s music, click on his/her name and that composer’s page will appear with commentary and audio tracks that Concentus Musicus has recorded. Click on the red player to hear the selection. Additions to the track-list are being made alphabetically by composer. To facilitate a word or name search, click on the search icon and type a word or name . . . press enter. A list of pages containing the desired word or name will appear . . . click on the desired page name.
Downloads are free, but to help us continue making these masterworks available, donations are most welcome. Concentus Musicus Minnesota is a non-profit (501(c)3) organization and donations are tax deductible in the U.S.
